One of the leading smartphone brands, Xiaomi launched the Redmi 10 2022 in its budget segment in India. The phone is said to be a more affordable version of the Redmi 10 Prime which was launched in September last year.
Redmi 10 is a completely different model from its global variant, which is the successor to the Redmi 9. It is the rebranded version of Redmi 10C that was launched in both China and Nigeria.

On the back panel is a textured finish which is said to provide a comfortable grip, dual rear camera sensors and a water drop notch for the selfie shooter. In addition to the 6.71-inch FHD+ display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 680, 128GB of storage, and a 50MP camera, MIUI 13 base operating system is included out of the box.
The phone is available in two versions based on the RAM and storage. The 4GB RAM + 64GB storage version at Rs. 10,999 and the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage at Rs. 10,999. Redmi 10 will be available for sale online from March 24, on Flipkart, Mi.com, Mi Home, and select offline retail stores. The phone will come in Caribbean Green, Midnight Black, and Pacific Blue colors.
There’s a 6.71-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 1,500 x 720 pixels, a water drop notch for the selfie snapper, Corning Gorilla Glass, and a large bottom bezel on the Redmi 10. The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 680, coupled with Adreno 610 GPU. Besides 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, the micro SD card slot further expands the storage. There’s 2GB of extendable virtual RAM. The phone comes with a powerful battery of 6000 mAh.
The design of the phone is getting mixed reviews from the users and tech experts. The placement of the fingerprint scanner is just adjacent to the camera lens which might be a problem for some users. “This a very weird finger-print reader placement” said a smartphone user. The textured finish at the back is an ambitious attempt in a market which is dominated by smooth and shimmery smartphones.
